Polimeri AD has undertaken a voluntary commitment before the society and public institutions to manufacture high quality products for its customers, taking special care to protect the environment.

The plant has received an invitation from the Bulgarian Chamber of the Chemical Industry to join the ‘Responsible Care’ World Initiative of the enterprises in the chemical industry. In October 2004 Polimeri AD obtained the right to use the logo of the Initiative – a proof that the Company is continuously improving its parameters relating to preservation of human health, workplace safety and environmental awareness.

With its Membership Statement Polimeri AD is obliged to:

• improve its knowledge in the field of health, safety and the environment;
• effective use of resources and reduction of waste;
• ensure the minimum risk to people and the environment with regard to the products manufactured;
• inform the people working at the Company and the general public on all issues relating to health, safety and the environment;
• manage adequately the production processes.

The Company aims to implement the principles of the ‘Responsible Care’ Initiative in the following areas:

• keeping the general public informed and ensuring emergency preparedness;
• safety of processes;
• pollution prevention;
• health and safety of workers;
• distribution and transportation;
• responsibility for the products during the complete technological cycle.
